Built in 1979, Westlawn Courts has grown to occupy a city block of affordable rental apartment communities for low to moderate income seniors in the Edmonton and area region. With a total of 198 affordable apartments, Westlawn Courts has enriched the lives of thousands of seniors stimulating a good lifestyle in surroundings that foster personal health, growth and self expression in a varied equality-based ethnicity.

Located in the Glenwood neighbourhood of West Edmonton beside the West Division station for the Edmonton Police Service, the neighbourhood has a mixture of residential and commercial areas and is very family-friendly with many elementary and high schools located close by. Surrounded by five beautifully treed courtyards and flower beds Westlawn Courts stands as a single building with three floors. All apartment homes contain a bedroom, kitchen, living room, and bathroom and storage area. While there are varied floor plans, the average apartment home size is 460 sq. ft.

Westlawn Courts is proud of our many unique amenities such as: Patio area with BBQ, hair salon service, communal lounge with fireplace and TV, exercise treadmill, stationary bike and a reading and puzzle room. General amenities include: Secure entrances and elevators – both East and West ends, garbage disposal areas, and designated outdoor smoking areas. The best part of Westlawn is our community of people and the fun we have together on field trips, attending social parties, listening to speakers, enjoying dinners together; even singing!

Applicants must be at least 65 years of age or older.

Application Procedure

Complete an application, found at https://housing.gef.org and submit online or in person to Central Services located at 14220 109 Ave. After your application has been processed, you will be contacted to schedule a housing interview. If your application is approved, you will be added to the waitlist. An approved applicant can be on one or multiple location waitlists for certain housing. Applicants only need to be interviewed once and approval is given for all locations you have selected on your application form.
